Scholar Folio

The Scholar section of my digital portfolio serves to synthesize my experiences in the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program at St. John’s University.  Featured here are the areas of research I am most interested in.  These were formed through my many experiences in school settings, as well as my exposure throughout the doctoral program to myriad ideas and philosophies.  Highlighted here as well is my plan for a possible dissertation.  I have created a portfolio presentation in order to provide an overview of the readings and theorists who have most influenced my thinking and research.

Plan of Action for Continued Research:

I have begun to read extensively on the topic of literacy education at the elementary level.  In addition, I have also begun to gather research and visit classrooms where literacy instruction is taking place.  I intend to continue, as well as further focus my research with the assistance of my St. John’s University professors. I will examine district choice of literacy programs in rural schools on the East End of Long Island and examine the implications of choice of programs for teaching literacy.

Digital Portfolio Objective and Synthesis

I must write it all out, at any cost.  Writing is thinking.  It is more than living, for it is being conscious of living.”
