It has been good to put this digital portfolio together.  It serves as a vehicle toward completing the comprehensive examination for the Educational Leadership and Accountability Doctoral Program at St. John's University, Oakdale, New York.  The very exercise of putting it together has given me a deeper awareness of my journey as a professional educator. The metaphor of journey is a useful one.  It calls to mind the way in which we meander in and out of areas of interest that shape and form us, often arriving at a destination different for the experiences we have had.  What I hope for my journey is that I remain open to the wonder of the hearts and minds of educators and students alike, always learning and growing through my encounters with the people and ideas that I meet along the way.

Each folio link represents something about myself.  Each tells its own story, containing coursework, research, writings, presentations and my own studies. Reflecting back allows us to maintain a sensibility about our growth toward the future, and clarifies for us the connectedness of our past with the days that lie ahead.  Just so, this portfolio operates in this vein for me, i.e., it has enabled me to look back, while keeping an eye toward my future endeavors.  It is a glimpse into my personal journey as an educator, and more importantly,  as a life-long learner.
